Grinding, squealing, or a soft pedal — here's what each symptom actually means.
Brakes rarely fail without warning. Listen and feel for these signs.
- Squealing: the wear indicator is touching the disc — pads are nearly done
- Grinding: metal on metal; stop driving and book in today
- Soft or spongy pedal: air or moisture in the fluid
- Pulling to one side: a sticking caliper or uneven pad wear
- Vibration under braking: warped or worn discs
Our free multi-point inspection checks pad thickness, disc condition and fluid moisture on every visit.
